About Jesse:

The second generation in the Sanderson entertainment law lineage, Jesse was raised in a music industry household since birth.

As a child he began to help his father, the firm’s founder Paul Sanderson, at the Sanderson Entertainment Law office any time he got a day off school and has attended the Juno Awards since he was 9 years old.

Born and raised in Toronto, Jesse attended Victoria College at the University of Toronto for undergraduate studies. He majored in Archaeology and graduated with distinction, then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to pursue a career in entertainment law.

Jesse obtained his JD in Boston at Suffolk University Law School. During his law school experience in the United States, he was a legal intern at the Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Boston Office, where he completed intensive legal research and wrote various executive level legal memos.

Licensed as an Attorney in Massachusetts since 2022, he is continuing his Canadian legal education by completing his NCA examinations and will be writing the Ontario bar exam in the not-so-distant future.

Jesse was a guest speaker at Toronto Metropolitan University events hosted by the Students’ Law Network for their Pumpkin Spice and Legal Advice event and at the Entertainment Law panel during their annual case competition event.

Jesse was also a guest at the first Lincoln Alexander School of Law Sports & Entertainment Law Society (LASELS) Speed Networking Event for lawyers working in the sports/entertainment law practice area in April 2024.

Musical Background:

Jesse has a background in classical music and played piano from the age of 3 with the Suzuki method at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, achieving his Grade 7 in classical piano with honours.

Jesse currently plays banjo and has played numerous instruments throughout his life including saxophone, guitar, piano and has released and produced various chopped and screwed remixes.

He has also recorded at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee where Elvis recorded and with producer Terry Brown who has worked with Rush.

Also an avid music fan from a young age, Jesse has maintained an interest in up-and-coming/underground artists from a variety of genres and consistently attends as many concerts as possible.
